On January 25, 2024, over 30 leading experts from renowned institutions such as KHNP, KEPCO E&C, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Doosan Enerbility, KLES, KAIST, Chosun National Univ., SeoulTech, and UNIST gathered at KLES HQ in Daejeon to conduct a workshop, to the effect to confirm and share the need for environmental fatigue testing for core materials used in nuclear power plant main equipment and to have in-depth discussions on future role division and implementation plans in the country.
The opening of the workshop was declared by Dr. Kim Tae-soon of KHNP Institute, heading KPVP division, with an enthusiastic greeting and justification for holding the workshop, and Cho Sun-young, CEO of KLES, responded with a welcoming speech. After a brief introduction by each participant about their roles and research areas, the workshop delved into the main agenda.
Lastly, the workshop involved lively discussions moderated by Dr. Park Chi-yong. The four-hour 'KPVP Design Analysis Division Environmental Fatigue Test Workshop' was successfully wound up with reflections from Son Myeong-ho, G/Mgr. of KHNP Construction Technology Div., along with Doosan Enerbility, EPC company.
As the workshop came to an end, everyone shared smiles and proceeded to the dinner venue. We look forward to more meaningful events at KLES increasingly in the future.
